Rambling With Ricketts

G-A Puts Old Ram Out To Pasture

G-A Adopts New Hokey Ram Logo
By Ed Ricketts

SPECIAL TO RAMLINKS

RAMSVILLE- Time has finally taken its toll upon the old trusty mascot of the Galesburg-Augusta school system. As of now, the dignified stoic Ram, that is emblazoned upon the memories of countless alumni, has been replaced by a cartoonish character which is humped-over, blowing steam from its nostrils. To top it off, the new logo features the image of the Ram placed between the "G" and "A", with its horns partially obscuring the "G", making it look like an "O".
Unfortunately, a copy of the new logo was unavailable at press-time to accompany this story, but will be featured as soon as Ramlinks can obtain it.

Ramlinks Has Name Change
February marks a new beginning in Ramlinks history. Ramlinks.Info has become Ramlinks.Org.
Even though our name proclaims us to be an organization, we are in reality still very unorganized. The Rambling column will continue to be out-dated and the Rambler Classics will still feature the same photo for months on end. We take pride in reliability. However, it is the goal of the webmaster that the year of 2006 will bring an end to stale out-dated material. In addition, new features will spring-up, like the G-A Alumni Forum, for example.

The forum will be a place where alumni can post messages on various topics. Another possible upcoming feature will be a 5- minute audio version of Rambling that can be heard online or as a MP3 audio download/podcast. This will become available as soon as financing is possible. Which brings us to our last topic. Money.
Ramlinks will continue to be a free online source for G-A Alumni, not scamming folks who want to get in touch with their old classmates. Not everybody has the money on hand for such things as classmate subscription services and they should not be left out of the loop. But, for those of you who can spare a buck or two, it would be greatly appreciated. If the website could be self-supporting and generate income to be invested in software updates and web-server costs, it would make our day, especially Mrs. Webmasters'. The ol' question, "How do you plan to pay for that?", will be gleefully answered "I got a check in the mail!".
A few alumni, in the past, have offered financial support, which the webmaster humbly put-off. Well, he is no longer humble and would like to produce a fresh and lively website. If you feel the desire to help, please reach into your wallets (as well as your hearts) and make all donations payable to: Michigan Dream, P.O. Box 263, Galesburg, Mi, 49053-0263. Half-off coupons on burgers, pizza and the like, will be cheerfully accepted.
Well, this about finishes this edition of Rambling, be sure to stay tuned for the new stuff.

[Editors Note: Ed Ricketts has been surviving on Bush's Baked Beans for the last five-weeks. All coupons will supplement his income.]
